JPID
First issue of ‘The journal of Prosthetic and Implant Dentistry (JPID)’ , Volume 1 Issue 1, was released by the honorable Secretary cum Treasurer of Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS), Dr Rangarajan V way back in 2017. Ten articles were published in that issue. IPS Kerala has decided to keep JPID as a peer reviewed, open access, tri-annual, e-journal. Since 2017 December, JPID was published in every January, May and September. JPID is linked to the website of IPS Kerala, www.ipskerala.com. JPID can be directly accessed through jpid.ipskerala.com. JPID has a very distinguished editorial board. First three issues were in pdf format only. Individual articles were published in html and pdf format from Volume 2 Issue 1 onwards.

• Getting ISSN recognition was a big milestone in our history. JPID received its ISSN recognition on 4/2/2020, the first regional journal to receive that (ISSN 2582-5224).
• JPID won best regional journal award every time the head office of Indian Prosthodontic Society announced it.
• JPID is the first regional journal to be a member of CROSSREF and we assign ‘doi’ to all articles published from 2022 January (volume 5 issue 2) onwards. Our ‘doi’ prefix is 10.55231.
• JPID is the first regional journal to get indexed with Index Copernicus and we are indexed in ICI Journals Master List database for 2021.
• Apart from ICI, JPID indexed by other agencies like ISSN Road, DRJI, SJI Factor, Academic Resource Index, Cosmos, Eurasian Scientific Journal Index, Advanced Science Index, Journal Factor, International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, SIS Scientific Group etc.
• JPID is the first regional journal to have an International editors panel. Dr Suresh Nayar (President of British Society of Prosthodontics) and Dr Prashanti Eachempati (Head of Prosthodontics, Manipal University, Malaysia) are our international editors.
• Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY 4.0), ensuring that your work will be freely accessible by all. Articles will also be shareable and adaptable by anyone as long as the user gives appropriate credit, provides a link to the license, and indicates if changes were made.
• JPID started ‘RRR (Read Review Reflect) lecture series’ during our state conferences. This initiative functions as a knowledge base for young researchers.
• Dr Jacob Hyson award was instituted for the best scientific publication in our journal and will be declared during the valedictory function of state conference every year.
• JPID publishes ‘quiz series’ every issue for the benefit of young post graduates
• Journal has developed and published its policy (Editorial policy, publication ethics, policy on conflict of interest/human and animal rights/informed consent, research and ethics policy, expression of concern, plagiarism, Copyright etc) in our website.
• E- Subscription of JPID is free of cost and can be done from our website. JPID has a subscription base of nearly 600.
• Editorial office is responsible for maintaining the website of the state branch (www.ipskerala. com/). This comprehensive website is linked to websites of IPS Head office, national conference, National PG Convention, State Conference, State Midterm Conference etc. The website narrates the history of IPS Kerala, it’s vision / mission / values, membership details, details of present and past office bearers, photo gallery, various downloads like IPS Covid guide etc.

18 issues spanning across 6 volumes were released so far and this herculean task was possible because of the selfless efforts from the part of the editorial board. All the issues released so far can be accessed in the webpage, www.ipskerala.com/JPID.htm. I thank each and every member of the editorial board for supporting me in this endeavor. This is the last issue of the JPID to be released under my editorship and I wish all success to this journal in the future.
